Ashiatsu Baresole Level 1 £495
13-15 July 2018 **FULL**
If you are a qualified Massage Therapist and are looking for a hand saving technique to add to your repertoire then Ashiatsu Baresole massage will give you that extra depth clients are looking for without huge effort.
This three day CPD course will teach you all the basics of this luxurious barefooted technique and how to perform full body massage in a safe and graceful way while using overhead ropes for balance and support.
During the course you will learn the history of barefoot massage, preparation, contraindications, foot care and exercise, overhead rope installation and have lots of foot on training! This adaptation of barefoot massage style will teach you not only holistic/effleurage type strokes, but also many sports massage techniques and stretches adapted to be used with your feet, so the treatment is not just relaxing , but also therapeutic and addresses many common musculoskeletal issues. You will take a theory and practical test at the end of the course and certificate of completion will be issued upon successfully passing both and handling back your practice log (minimum 10 hours).
Course will be run at my Garden Retreat in East Barnet between 10am-6.00pm, please check “Contact” page for address details.
Ashiatsu Baresole massage is a wonderful technique to offer to all those who enjoy deeper pressure during the massage and brings many benefits to the receiver and therapist. Although it may look easy, it does require certain level of fitness from the therapist to perform it well. Just like it is not suitable for every client it may not be suitable for every therapist so please read and ask me any questions before you sign up to the training.
Even though weight is not a restriction for undertaking the course, you must ensure that the equipment you will be using can hold yours and client’s weight. Also you should be pretty comfortable getting on and off the massage table and have flexibility in your hips to apply the stokes in a fluid motion, also have fairly good upper body strength (be able to pull your body up in case you have to remove your weight instantly). To be accepted for the course you need to hold valid Anatomy & Physiology certificate ( level 3 or up) and have 2 years practical experience after graduation from your either Holistic or Sports Massage ( Level 3 minimum). Before you sign up please consider that you will be practicing on each other and may receive more than two hours of massage a day as well as perform. Therefore contraindications for the treatment will apply to you as well. Please let me know of anything I need to be aware in the form provided.

Students feedback ( why take my word for it?:)
“It was a pleasure spending 3 days with Milena in her purpose built studio with my fellow ashiatsu student. Milena’s approach is CALM. She has created an environment and formed techniques in her professional, intuitive, calm style, and the experience and sensations speak for themselves. If you have not tried ashiatsu- DO.
I would recommend this ashiatsu course whole heartedly to those who want to build on existing massage skills. The course is spread over 3 days and the majority is practical. The teaching pace and Milena’s delivery are good.
Practicing on each other, and with additional people volunteering, I was able to experience giving ashiatsu massage to different body types, in a short space of time.
The training of course is tiring, as with learning any new skill, but I came away uplifted looking forward to putting into practice what I’d learnt. Milena is supportive and makes herself available to answer questions and give advice if needed. I thoroughly recommend this course.” Aryan C.
“I must say i had the most amazing time. Two of us worked together on each other and also had practise sessions with other bodies over two days. Milena was a joy to work with, patient, easy going and very informative. The studio at the bottom of her garden from where the course was run, was a beautiful, calm, space in which to spend our time.
I felt the course was just the right pace to absorb all the new information and came away feeling extremely enthused and cannot wait to try out this new modality.” Helen W.
“So glad I found you Milena. I have learned so much from the Ashiatsu course and cannot wait to start practicing. Thank you for your tuition, advice, your patience and for being closer than California My feet are raring to go !” Silvia P.
“Milena is a lovely therapist and very thorough with her training. Her feet have a great feeling on your muscles just perfect pressure. I have just finished a 3 day course of Ashiatsu training and am so glad I found this place. It is amazing and tranquil. Would have no hesitation in recommending mk therapies for treatments and training. Thank you Milena.” Sam F.
