If you are a qualified Massage Therapist and are looking for a hand saving technique to add to your repertoire then Ashiatsu Baresole massage will give you that extra depth clients are looking for without huge effort.
This three day CPD course will teach you all the basics of this luxurious barefooted technique and how to perform full body massage in a safe and graceful way while using overhead ropes for balance and support.
During the course you will learn the history of barefoot massage, preparation, contraindications, foot care and exercise, overhead rope installation and have lots of foot on training! This adaptation of barefoot massage style will teach you not only holistic/effleurage type strokes, but also many sports massage techniques and stretches adapted to be used with your feet, so the treatment is not just relaxing , but also therapeutic and addresses many common musculoskeletal issues. You will take a theory and practical test at the end of the course and certificate of completion will be issued upon successfully passing both and handling back your practice log (minimum 10 hours).
Small class, with 2 student at the time so you are sure to have individual attention and guidance. You will be demonstrated the techniques and also you will experience the Ashi Bodyworx massage by the tutor, so you know how to do it and how it feels!
Course will be run at my Garden Retreat in East Barnet between 10am-5.00pm, please check “Contact” page for address details.
To reserve your place on the course a non refundable deposit is required. By signing up and placing your deposit you agree to Code of ethics and Refund policy.
Ashi Bodyworx massage is a wonderful technique to offer to all those who enjoy deeper pressure during the massage and brings many benefits to the receiver and therapist. Although it may look easy, it does require certain level of fitness from the therapist to perform it well. Just like it is not suitable for every client it may not be suitable for every therapist so please read and ask me any questions BEFORE you sign up to the training.
Even though weight is not a restriction for undertaking the course, you must ensure that the equipment you will be using can hold yours and client’s weight. Also you should be pretty comfortable getting on and off the massage table and have flexibility in your hips to apply the stokes in a fluid motion, also have fairly good upper body strength (be able to pull your body up in case you have to remove your weight instantly). To be accepted for the course you need to hold valid Anatomy & Physiology certificate ( level 3 or up) and have 2 years practical experience after graduation from your either Holistic or Sports Massage ( Level 3 minimum). Before you sign up please consider that you will be practicing on each other and may receive more than two hours of massage a day as well as perform. Therefore contraindications for the treatment will apply to you as well. Please let me know of anything I need to be aware in the form provided.
To secure your place £100 deposit required, balance due 14 days before. Please enquire for payment plan.
If you would like to have 1:1 tuition please contact me with your request to discuss.
